In a very short period of time, I felt a shift in my way of thinking."During an in-depth, intimate conversation, with a close friend, she observed that, I was talking about the exact same frustrations, during this particular conversation, that I'd been talking about two years earlier.
This simple, yet thoughtful observation was a lightbulb moment for me. My friend's observation, coupled with those from several other close friends during the past two years, was the moment when my unconscious mind woke up. I awoke to the reality that my life, my thoughts and my actions were following a circular rhythm that kept me stuck in a holding pattern. I realized I needed help in moving forward and that I needed help in getting unstuck.
My work with Maari began with the stated goal of getting unstuck in aspects of my career and in my personal life. After a lengthy, in-depth initial consultation, we created a course of action that felt comfortable and well paced for my needs. We spoke at length, every other week which gave me a chance to dig deep and share a great deal. In-between our bi-monthly sessions, Maari texted me or emailed me, not only to stay in touch and check-in, but to offer suggested readings, mantras, positive feedback and support. Maari's outreach made it clear in words and actions that I was not alone in my journey.
Both Maari and I approached our work together with a seriousness of purpose and a commitment to the stated goals. On a personal level, Maari's generosity of spirit gave me the emotional comfort that I needed to open up to her and to be vulnerable/willing to change.
In a very short time, I felt a shift in my way of thinking. I saw, in my actions, ways in which I was achieving my goals. New career paths began to emerge and in some cases, I began to create opportunities where none had previously existed. I took steps in my personal life as well that months before would have been far too frightening to take.
My success is attributable to hard work and the careful, thoughtful, deeply knowledgable and open-hearted guidance of Maari. There is more growing and learning to do. In this brave new experience of living outside of my comfort zone, I find that I am scared and at times, timid. With Maari’s spiritual coaching, I was able to make tremendous changes for myself and my family."Before Maari and I started working together my life was in flux. I live with Fibromyalgia and migraine headaches and went through a difficult passage with my former workplace, ultimately leaving it. My husband was laid off one year after I left work. We were living in a very expensive area of California where we had close family ties. Our teenage children were invested in their schools and friends so we felt we could not leave this area. I watched helplessly as my husband become increasingly dejected from an unproductive job search, not because of lack of skill, but because he is 50+ years old in a youthful Silicon Valley work environment. We found ourselves in reactive mode, expecting any day to hear that our landlords were returning from overseas and knowing that a move would entail $1K more per month in rent for a much smaller home. We did not see a clear way forward.
Enter Maari and her spiritual practice. Maari has a gift. She is extremely professional in her work as well as being warm, supporting and uplifting, qualities that are usually hard to find in one person. Maari’s faith is very strong. She provided the base that I did not have myself. Being able to lean on her faith was the key to the life changing process that unfolded.
With Maari’s spiritual coaching, I was able to make tremendous changes for myself and my family. Our sessions gave me the will and courage to set in motion a move to a more affordable area where my husband and I are starting a home-based business, something that I have dreamed of for over 5 years. With Maari’s guidance we made our decisions as a family, taking into account the best path for each of us. Our 11th grade daughter was able to stay in her school through a guardianship with family friends, and has only grown closer to us through the process. Our son was brave enough to start a new school knowing no one and is thriving, academically and socially, developing meaningful friendships while keeping in touch with his longtime friends. Most importantly, I have found that my Fibromyalgia pain and migraine frequency have diminished dramatically because of my new-found trust in life and my ability to make positive change for myself and my family.
